This relaxing and informative tour takes you from Strahan beach into Mill bay and then across to Strahan Harbour, where you'll savour a delicious afternoon appetiser provided by the local restaurant Risby Cove before returning. Your guide will ensure your safety and share captivating stories of Tasmania's West Coast, making it a truly memorable experience on the water.

Please Note: To participate in our kayaking experiences, you must:

  • Be comfortable swimming with a flotation device (life jacket/PFD).

  • Understand and follow your guide’s instructions in English.

 

Guides will assess English comprehension upon arrival. If there are concerns about your ability to understand instructions and communicate with our guides, you will not be able to participate in the tour.

How old do I have to be to come kayaking? Our minimum age is 7 for this tour, making it perfect for the whole family. Do I have to have any kayaking experience? No kayaking experience is necessary! This tour is designed to cater to everyone, from seasoned kayakers to first-timers. How long is this tour? This tour is approximately 2.5 hours long. How fit do I have to be? By no means do you have to be an Ironman/women all you need is good range of motion, and to be comfortable sitting down in a boat for approximately 2 hours. What type of boats do you use? We use mission double sea kayaks. These are really stable kayaks and are really forgiving for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. If I am by myself will I have to paddle with someone else? Generally yes, in certain circumstances it may be possible to use single kayaks, but this will be up to the discretion of the guide on the day. What food is provided? The food is provided by local restaurant Risby Cove, it consists of something off their entree menu, and a sweet treat as well. Do we ever get out of the kayaks? We plan to stay in the kayaks throughout the trip, even while we eat, so it's a good idea to use the toilet before you arrive.
